Instead of the Visit Connect scan app, you can also use an barcode scanner (A barcode scanner is a hand-held device used to scan visitor badges, among other things) to collect leads (A lead is a person who represents a sales opportunity for your company) at an event. You will have to order your scanners before the event. The supply of scanners may be limited.
Depending on the event, you may have the option of ordering licences for either the Visit Connect app or for barcode scanners, or both.
Use a barcode scanner to:
- collect leads by scanning the barcodes on visitors (A person who registers to attend an event) badges;
- record answers to questions by scanning the corresponding barcodes on your printed questions sheet.
You can view and manage the leads collected with a barcode scanner in the Visit Connect web portal. However, the leads will not appear there until you drop by the Visit Connect desk with your scanner to download (synchronise) your collected lead data. Ideally, your should synch the data daily during the course of an event.
