Create a shop item

Do this first:

Before you start, read Building your shop. This will help you choose the best order in which to create the different parts of your shop.

Steps:

Some of the steps below are marked with Advanced shop. You can skip these steps if you're using a simple shop (see Simple shop vs. advanced shop).

1. On the Dashboard, select Event > Shop.
2. Select the Shop items tab.

3. Click Add new shop item. Depending on the type of shop (see Simple shop vs. advanced shop), you will see different results:

4. Enter a Shop item name.
5. Advanced shop If you want to add the shop item to a shop group, select it in Group (see Create a shop group).
6. If the item should only be available during a certain period, enter a date and time in Available from and Available to.
7. In Total available, enter an amount, or select unlimited.
8. In Restrict order quantity, choose whether you want to limit how many of this shop item a registrant can order. The default option is Variable: Range – choose this if you're not sure what to do. You can then enter a lower and upper limit in Minimum per registrant and Maximum per registrant. If you're working with group registrations, choose one of these options:
   • Fixed: 1 per group registrant + main registrant: On group registrations, the main registrant must order 1 item for each member of the group, including themselves.
   • Fixed: 1 per group registrant: On group registrations, the main registrant must order 1 item for each member of the group, excluding themselves.
   • Fixed: 1 per main registrant: On group registrations, the main registrant must order 1 item for the entire group, regardless of group size.
9. Enter the VAT rate.

10. Enter the Price excl. VAT or Price incl. VAT. When you type in either field, its counterpart automatically changes.

    Not all shop items have to cost money. For example, you could create a free shop item with a quantity restriction to limit the amount of people that can sign up for a free presentation.

11. Advanced shop If you want the price of the item to change over time, add one or more price schemes:
    1. Click Add price scheme.
    2. Enter the desired Price excl. VAT or Price incl. VAT.
    3. Use the date and time fields under From to determine when this price becomes effective. The values in the Until column automatically align with the start date of the next price scheme.
    4. Repeat for any additional price schemes you want to add.
12. If the purpose of this shop item is to add transaction costs to each order, select This shop item is transaction costs. Click for more info.
13. Advanced shop Add shop products to the item:
    1. On the Products tab, click Add another product.
    2. Select a product from the list, or choose Create a new product to create a new one (see Create a shop product).
    3. In Number of items you will get, enter how many of this product the registrant gets when they purchase the shop item.
    4. Repeat for any additional products you want to add.

14. On the English tab, enter a Title and Description. Repeat this for any additional translations.

    If your shop item contains multiple shop products, pay extra attention to your description. Registrants cannot see which products each shop item contains – they only see the name and description of the shop item.

15. Click Save

Repeat the above until you have created all the items you need.
