What is an onsite user? An onsite user is a special type of user account for EventBox, used only when the EventBox is in Manned Registration mode (see Use Manned Registration). Because hosts and hostesses can process payments from visitors in this mode, security is important. You can create onsite users to:
- restrict access to the EventBox with an extra password;
- keep a record of who processed each payment.
See Create an onsite user for instructions.
Sharing onsite users
You can use onsite users in different ways. For example, if you know the host Art Vandelay will be manning the EventBox for the duration of the event, you could create an onsite user with his name and only give the password to him. But if multiple hosts will use the same EventBox in shifts, it might be more convenient if they shared a single onsite user with a generic name like 'EventBox1'. Multiple people can even log in as the same onsite user at the same time. It is up to you whether you want to allow people to share onsite users.
Payment report
After the event, you can download a payment report from the Service Centre (Other options > Payment report). This report lists each payment, along with the name of the onsite user who processed it. See also Download a payment report.
